NC Central's Biomedical/Biotechnology Research Institute (BBRI) conducts multidisciplinary and inter-institutional research focused on addressing health disparities, with ample opportunities for students to get involved and enhance their access to careers in the biomedical sciences.

With dual missions of health research and degree-focused workforce development, the Biomanufacturing Research Institute and Technology Enterprise (BRITE) provides education and training in biotechnology and biomanufacturing for both undergraduate and graduate students.
