Welcome to NCCU Public Administration, where we train leaders in "Truth and Service." Our Network of Schools of Public Policy, Affairs, and Administration (NASPAA)-accredited M.P.A. prepares students to lead ethically, analyze complex problems, and strengthen public and non-profit institutions.
Department Overview
The Department of Public Administration prepares professionals to lead and serve effectively in government, non-profit organizations, and other public-serving institutions. The NCCU Master of Public Administration is a 42-credit, 14-course professional graduate degree that combines rigorous study with applied learning and professional development.
The Traditional M.P.A. track provides flexible professional education in public administration, combining core study in management, policy, budgeting, research, leadership, and ethics with elective concentrations and applied professional learning. Classes are offered weekday evenings in face-to-face and hybrid formats.
Designed for experienced professionals, the Executive M.P.A. uses a cohort-based model in an accelerated 12-month, all-online format designed for working professionals.
This fully online, 12-credit graduate certificate develops practical skills in non-profit management, finance, strategic planning, and social entrepreneurship. It is designed for degree-holders seeking focused graduate-level preparation for non-profit leadership.
The M.P.A. at NCCU is also available as a dual degree in the J.D./M.P.A. and M.P.A./M.I.S. programs, as well as through an accelerated bachelor's to master's program from Political Science.
GAPA builds community among NCCU M.P.A. students through professional development, networking, service, social activities, and opportunities for student leadership and engagement.
NCCU’s ICMA Student Chapter connects students with the local government profession through networking, professional development, informational events, and access to ICMA’s national professional community.
