Honoring 40 Years of Opportunity, Grit, and Greatness
Each summer, a determined group of aspiring law students walk into a classroom at North Carolina Central University School of Law not yet Legal Eagles, and with no guarantee of admission. What they do have is an invitation: a two-week opportunity to prove they belong in the Nest.
PBAP is a rigorous and transformative experience grounded in legal writing, substantive coursework, and real-time faculty evaluation. Founded in 1986 by Interim Dean Thomas M. Ringer Jr. and Attorney Glenn Adams Sr., PBAP is a bold and visionary program that provides access to students whose potential may not be fully captured by traditional admissions metrics.
Over the past four decades, PBAP has pushed, stretched, and prepared hundreds of students to soar—upholding the mission of NCCU School of Law to deliver a high-quality, affordable, and practice-focused legal education.
In honor of the program’s enduring legacy and its future impact, we invite you to attend the PBAP 40th Anniversary “Boots on the Ground Soirée”—a spirited evening of fellowship, giving, and celebration.
PBAP receives no state funding. Its continued success depends on the generous support of our community. Donations to the PBAP Gift Giving Campaign provide:
Your gift will directly support the next generation of Eagles who are ready to earn their wings.

Sponsorship Opportunities
We invite alumni, law firms, organizations, and community partners to sponsor the PBAP 40th Anniversary “Boots on the Ground Soirée.” Your sponsorship will directly support the continued impact of the Performance-Based Admissions Program, helping ensure that future generations of aspiring Legal Eagles have access to the resources, support, and accommodations they need to succeed.
Sponsorships help offset the costs of event planning and logistics, while also contributing to PBAP’s ongoing needs such as:
As a sponsor, your name or organization will be recognized on event materials, in the printed program, and on PBAP-related digital platforms. Most importantly, your generosity will help preserve a pathway to law school that has changed lives for nearly four decades.
