It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences in the College of Health and Science (CHAS) at North Carolina Central University! The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences was established in 2007 and is housed in the Biomanufacturing Research Institute and Technology Enterprise (BRITE) building.
The department supports CHAS's commitment to excellence in scholarship, teaching and service. The department engages in interdisciplinary teaching and research that provides relevant real-world expertise students need to become skilled scientists, excel intellectually and professionally in a global environment and pursue careers in science and management or continue their education in graduate school. The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences offers the following programs:
- A B.S. program in Pharmaceutical Sciences
- A certificate in Pharmaceutical Sciences
- A minor in Pharmaceutical Sciences
- A thesis M.S. program in Pharmaceutical Sciences
- A non-thesis M.S. program in Pharmaceutical Sciences
- A Ph.D. program in Integrated Biosciences (INBS)
- A B.S. program in Clinical Research
- A minor in Clinical Research
- A certificate in Clinical Research
Established and administered by the Graduate School at NCCU, the Ph.D. program offers two concentrations: Pharmaceutical Sciences and Biomedical Sciences. The Pharmaceutical Sciences concentration is designed for students with backgrounds or interests in pharmaceutical sciences, pharmacology, biochemistry or related disciplines, while the Biomedical Sciences concentration is designed for students who are interested in biomedical research.
