Uniform Guidance 2 CRF 200.201.b.3 requires a certification for payroll distribution purposes for all payroll charges to federal contracts and grants. 

For all faculty, EPA non-faculty professional personnel, staff and students, whether full-time or part-time, who work on furthering the objectives of a sponsored project, payroll distribution must be certified at the end of each academic term (fall semester, spring semester, and summer term).

Uniform Guidance 2 CRF 200.430 requires that a payroll distribution system must:

  1. Be incorporated into the official records of the University
  2. Reasonably reflect the activity for which the employee is compensated by the University
  3. Encompass both sponsored and all other activities on an integrated basis.

OSRP will be the ECC Central Administrator over the project certification system. Certification of the projects is to be done by the principal investigator (PI) or an assigned designee.

Training Opportunities

Funding Opportunities Training

In this training, various systems will be shown to demonstrate the many different ways to search for funding opportunities for sponsored projects. Websites such as Grants.Gov, Grant Resource Center and InfoEd SPIN will be discussed. This training is for all staff, faculty and students who would like to search for funding for research, fellowships or program support within the university. This training is available upon request by emailing [email protected].

Grant Submission and Cayuse Training

This training is geared for staff and faculty who are interested in submitting a proposal to a sponsor or agency to support their research endeavors. The overall process of submitting a proposal, as well as a step-by-step demonstration of our internal tracking system (Cayuse), will be discussed. Banner INB Training (Financial System)

Banner is the financial system used to keep track of the financial information for your sponsored projects. In this training, a demonstration of Banner will be shown to help you manage your project financially. This training is for all staff or faculty working on or managing a sponsored project. Budget Transfer Training (Banner SSB)
