Scholars in Biotech
This Scholars Program is for undergraduate students in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences and provides scholarships, mentoring, and other resources to aid in student success and matriculation towards graduation.
NCCU was awarded $1.8 million to fund STEM education initiatives. The new grant from NC GlaxoSmithKline Foundation will create novel opportunities for future scholars to gain hands-on and other experiential learning in NCCU’s state-of-the-art labs and classrooms.
We are looking for rising 11th- and 12th-grade high school students interested in pursuing a career in life sciences, pharmaceutical sciences, clinical research, biotechnology, math, engineering or other STEM fields to participate in our Summer Immersion Experience.
Students will focus on STEM-related topics with a focus on addressing and solving the problems facing the world today, including drug discovery and health disparities.
The program includes instruction and hands-on laboratory experiments conducted in NCCU's state-of-the-art teaching labs.
Students will have access to faculty and staff of the Pharmaceutical Sciences department and BRITE as well as the opportunity to learn more about STEM college programs and careers, financial literacy and entrepreneurship.
