Homecoming 2025: Know Before You Go

Before you arrive for the Ultimate Homecoming Experience 2025, take a moment to review important updates that will impact your plans. From changes to the parade and parking to updated tailgating guidelines and campus access policies, “Know Before You Go” is your one-stop guide to navigating homecoming safely, smoothly, and in true Eagle style.

We’re excited to welcome students, alumni, friends, and partners back to the sloping hills and verdant green — but we want everyone to be informed, prepared, and ready to celebrate responsibly. 

Review the sections below to plan ahead and enjoy a seamless, spirited Homecoming weekend! 

• For a smooth entry, please have your ticket(s) downloaded and ready to show when asked by event staff or public safety.

On-campus parking for Oct. 24 is open to visitors. Parking is available in the Latham Parking Deck for $1.50 per hour. Park Mobile locations are also available along Nelson Street.

On-campus parking for Oct. 25 is reserved for faculty, staff and students with university decals; no general visitor parking is available. Golf carts and motorcycles are not permitted on campus.

A limited number of on-campus ADA-accessible spaces in Latham Parking Deck will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis for $25 and can be purchased at the deck kiosk.

Off-campus game-day parking on Oct. 25 is available at: 

• Durham Chapel Hill Street Garage (326 E. Chapel Hill St.)
• Durham Centre Parking Garage (300 W. Morgan St.)
• Corcoran Street Garage (110 Corcoran St.)
• Durham Technical Community College (1637 E. Lawson St.) 

Shuttle service will operate from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., running between these locations and campus:

• Downtown route drop-offs: Corner of Fayetteville and E. Lawson streets.
• Durham Tech route drop-offs: Corner of Lawson Street and S. Alston Avenue.

Bus service schedules are subject to change based on passenger volume at each off-campus parking location.

The round-trip fare is $5 per rider and can be purchased by credit card from a transportation representative equipped with a reader at each pick-up location.

Riders will receive a wristband upon purchase, which will serve as their pass for return service.

Return shuttles to off-campus locations will begin after halftime of the football game and will be stationed at the same drop-off locations. Trips to campus will end at 2:30 p.m.

ADA Shuttle Service 

ADA service will be available at all shuttle locations. To schedule ADA transportation, call the Transportation Dispatch Office at 919-530-5139 or email [email protected] in advance.

Due to high call volume on game day, reservations should be made at least two (2) hours before pickup. ADA shuttles will only service designated pick-up and drop-off locations; all other requests are subject to denial.

City street parking is welcome at Dunbar Street, Price Avenue, Massey Avenue, Linwood Avenue, Martha Street, Burlington Avenue, and Hope Avenue. 

• Tailgating locations:
  • Alexander-Dunn Lot: Not available for Homecoming
  • Eagle Alley (car and RV): Sold out
  • Saunders White Lot: No longer available
  • Lincoln Street Lot: Sold out
  • Miller Morgan Lot: Sold out
  • The Pit (Latham Surface Lot): Please contact the Ticket Office to purchase
  • Tent City (Lawn Area): Sold out
• All tailgating outside the enclosed RV Lot tailgate area on the practice field/track must end by 3:30 p.m. RV Lot tailgating may continue longer as designated.
• The Vendor Village has been relocated to Nelson Street.

• The Greek Bowl post-game celebration will take place from 4 to 6:30 p.m.
• The campus will close by 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and all music will end at 6:30 p.m.
• The last bus route to designated parking areas departs at 8 p.m.
• All campus buildings will be closed to visitors.
• Doors will be monitored and secured by designated security personnel.
