University Alert

The university will operate under Condition 1 (Reduced Operations) of the Adverse Weather and Emergency Event Policy on Monday, March 16, effective at 12 p.m. through 11:59 p.m. A strong storm system will bring widespread hazardous weather conditions to the region.

Classes scheduled to start at 12 p.m. or later will be held virtually. Non-essential staff will work remotely.

Tanzanian Ambassador Visits Campus

Elsie Sia Kanza, Tanzanian Ambassador to the United States, took part in in a roundtable discussion with representatives of North Carolina Central University (NCCU) and representatives from the Triangle area of North Carolina. 

 The 90-minute meeting on Aug. 13 in the nursing building covered a variety of topics. Those included questions about the Tanzanian economy, discussion about tourism, potential students interacting with the NCCU website, a “drone academy” taught by NCCU faculty and the NCCU nursing program. 

 The roundtable was organized by the NCCU Office of International Affairs and Sister Cities International of Durham.
