Staying Safe in Extreme Heat

In extreme heat, your body works extra hard to maintain a normal temperature, which can lead to death. Extreme heat is responsible for the highest number of annual deaths among all weather-related hazards.
North Carolina Central University leadership is closely monitoring a light winter weather system expected to affect central North Carolina, including the Triangle region, from Monday, Dec. 8, into Tuesday, Dec. 9. In response to the forecast, the university will operate under Condition 1 (Reduced Operations) from midnight to 11:59 p.m. on Monday. All final exams scheduled for Dec. 8 will be held virtually.
