The NCCU Student Center (NSC) at North Carolina Central University is designed with a focus on student success.  The facility has a modern open-concept layout designed to encourage intentional and passive engagement.  As students flow through the facility, they will find an array of open spaces that allow them to informally interact with each other and engage with staff who will help them identify more opportunities to get involved with campus activities. In addition, this facility is equipped to host community engagement opportunities such as weddings, reunions, community meetings and celebrations.

The NCCU Student Center Events Office works collaboratively with registered student organizations; NCCU departments; NCCU alumni, faculty and staff; and community members to foster the development of amazing experiences (activities and events). Our goal is to provide a transformative experience, whether it is with a student group, conference, private event or celebration.

During the academic year (fall and spring semesters): 

  • Monday–Friday: 8 a.m.–11 p.m.
  • Saturday: 10 a.m.–10 p.m.
  • Sunday: 12 p.m.–8 p.m. 

How to Book the Facility

To secure your event within the NCCU Student Center, you must submit your reservation request via 1910 Booking located in the myEOL portal. Upon submission, you will be contacted for more information on your pending approval and any fees that may apply. 

Submit a Request 

If you are a registered student organization (RSO), NCCU department, or a faculty or staff member, and you have questions or concerns about reserving space in the NCCU Student Center (NSC), contact the NCCU Student Center Event Operations Team at [email protected].

For more information on booking the NCCU Student Center, you must submit a “Facility Reservation Request Form.” To begin the reservation process or to schedule a consultation, this form must be completed at least 14 business days in advance for most events and at least 30 business days in advance for major events of 100 attendees or more. Please allow 3 business days for a reply from the event planning coordinator after submittal.

FAQs

An RSO is a University-affiliated student organization that is currently recognized by and registered with the University through the Student Engagement and Leadership department. 

No, they cannot. 

Yes. All event decorations must comply with Student Center safety and facility guidelines. Decorations may not be taped, glued, nailed, or otherwise affixed to walls, ceilings, floors, railings, fixtures, or furniture, and all displays must be free-standing. Open flames, glitter, confetti, fog or smoke machines, and suspended decorations are prohibited. Helium-filled balloons are not permitted inside the Student Center; only non-helium balloon décor that is safely anchored and approved by Student Center Administration may be used. All decorations must be removed immediately following the event.

All food and beverages served on campus must be provided and/or approved through University catering, 1910 Catering. Contact information for 1910 Catering will be provided once your reservation has been confirmed. 

Yes, we charge an hourly fee, and any time past the end time will be an additional charge.

Yes, a deposit is required.

NCCU alumni must be in good financial standing with the NCCU Alumni Association.
