On April 12, 2024, at 10 a.m., North Carolina Central University proudly acknowledged the outstanding academic achievements across all colleges, schools, departments, and honor societies. This special recognition encompassed recipients of the Dean’s List, A and B Honor Roll students with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 for the Spring and Fall semesters of 2023, and esteemed members of various professional and academic honor societies.

Taya Davis and Ezeji Nwanaji-Enwerem have been named 2023 HBCU Competitiveness Scholars by the White House Initiative on Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), a program that recognizes outstanding student performance in higher education.

Dr. Baines serves as our honors STEM faculty fellow and recently gave a lecture sponsored by the National Institute of Environmental Health Services' Office of Science Education and Diversity.
This student board serves as a liaison between the director and student members to ensure quality programming, provide student input, create community service opportunities and assist with student engagement.

The University Honors Program has an Honors Advisory Council of faculty members and administrators from across the university who provide insight and guidance on issues related to the welfare of the program.
The UHP application for Fall 2024 is closed and will reopen on November 1 for Spring 2025.
The White House Initiative on Educational Equity, Excellence and Economic Development through Historically Black Colleges and Universities Scholar Recognition Program selects HBCU scholars for their academic achievement, civic and campus engagement and entrepreneurial ethos. The deadline for 2024 is January 15, 2024.
