The University Honors Program (UHP) prepares NCCU students to be world changers through co-curricular activities, faculty and peer mentorship, internship and fellowship opportunities, and professional and academic enrichment experiences on-campus and off-campus.

74th Honors Convocation

North Carolina Central University recognizes the academic excellence displayed in each college, school, department and honor society. Honor recipients will include the Dean’s List and the A and B Honor Roll students with at least a 3.00 cumulative GPA for the Spring and Fall semesters of 2022 and members of professional and academic honor societies.

Taya Davis and Ezeji Nwanaji-Enwerem have been named 2023 HBCU Competitiveness Scholars by the White House Initiative on Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), a program that recognizes outstanding student performance in higher education.

The University Honors Program has an Honors Advisory Council of faculty members and administrators from across the university who provide insight and guidance on issues related to the welfare of the program.

HBCU Scholar Recognition Program

The White House Initiative on Educational Equity, Excellence and Economic Development through Historically Black Colleges and Universities Scholar Recognition Program selects HBCU scholars for their academic achievement, civic and campus engagement and entrepreneurial ethos. The deadline for 2024 is January 15, 2024.
