The following proposal outlines a program that meets the goals and objectives of the Ronald E. McNair Postbaccalaureate Achievement Program and exceeds the McNair Program expectations by offering: (1) Participation in a six-week Summer Research Institute, university-wide Research Symposium and regional and national research conferences; (2) A comprehensive identification, recruitment and selection plan to select qualified Scholars and Faculty Mentors with viable research projects; (3) An individualized McNair Academic Plan designed for each McNair participant; and, (4) Participation in weekly scholarly activities and seminars designed to assist participants in the pursuit of a doctorate degree. The North Carolina Central University’s McNair grant application will address the Competitive Preference Priority: Promoting STEM Education.
