RCMI Research Capacity Core

Research Capacity Core

The Research Capacity Core (RCC) at NCCU's RCMI Center for Health Disparities Research enhances research excellence by supporting faculty and staff through five specialized sub-cores. Together, they provide tailored services — from protocol design and data analytics to compliance and infrastructure — ensuring purpose takes flight in every project.

Five Sub-Cores

Each sub-core plays a distinct role in advancing research development, tools, and compliance.

Partnerships, Effectiveness, Ethics and Compliance (PEEC)

The PEEC sub-core assists in cultivating partnerships and creating opportunities for resource sharing, mentoring, community engagement, and collaborative research while ensuring compliance with University policies and ethical research standards.

Data Analysis and Research Methodology (DARM)

The DARM sub-core supports the selection of adequate statistical plans, research design, and methodologies to achieve robust and trustworthy research.

Health Communication and Literacy (HLC)

The HLC sub-core helps develop messages for outreach, community engagement, and strategies for disease or risk prevention.

Population and Health Services (PHS)

The PHS sub-core supports investigators in improving access, availability, and continuity of care for North Carolinians via translation of evidence-based and outcome-focused interventions.

Biomechanisms and Research Model (BRM)

The BRM sub-core manages, expands the capacity, and advertises the equipment(s) housed within the Julius L. Chambers Biomedical and Biotechnology Research Institute and within the NCCU Animal Research Complex.
