General Questions

No, it is not free to park on campus. A valid NCCU issued parking decal is required to park on campus.
Decals are valid for one academic school year and expire on June 30 of the specified decal year.

Parking Decal Pickup Locations
Info Accordions
Decals can be picked up from the Parking Office with your proof of payment.
Decals can be picked up from the Parking Office at Eagle Landing Residence Hall with a receipt from the Cashier’s Office.
Decals can be picked up from the Parking Office with your receipt from the Cashier’s Office and proof of your completed payroll deduction form.
Reserved Parking
Info Accordions
Only the employee registered to the reserved-space decal may use that specific space.
Reserved space parking is enforced 24/7, including university holidays.
Faculty/Staff Parking
Info Accordions
They can park in any space within the Non-Reserved Faculty/Staff Zones.
These spaces are designated for faculty/staff from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays. After 7 p.m., any vehicle with a valid parking pass may use them.
Student Parking

Commuter student decal holders may park in these designated lots:
- Mary Townes Lower Lot
- Latham Surface Lot
- Latham Deck (non-hourly spaces)
- O'Kelly-Riddick Lot
- Criminal Justice Gravel
- School of Education Front Lot
Residential student decal holders may park in these designated lots:
- Mary Townes Lower Lot
- Latham Deck (non-hourly spaces)
- Ben Ruffin Residence Hall Lot
- Marth Street Apartments Lot
Visitor Parking

Visitors must have a designated visitor decal coordinated by the department they are visiting and may only park in their assigned space.
Metered Parking

Metered parking is for general visitors or individuals who do not wish to purchase an annual decal.

Ticketing

All payments must be made at the Cashier’s Office, Room 12, Shepard Administration Building, during business hours (Monday–Friday).

Towing
Info Accordions
A vehicle may be towed if it:
- Is parked on campus without a valid permit
- Is parked in a reserved space without the correct permit
- Is illegally parked in an emergency space or blocking emergency access
- Has received three or more violations and has been booted for over 48 hours
- Is illegally parked for over 10 days or classified as "derelict" per N.C. General Statute 20-137.7

Vehicle Immobilization (Booting)
Info Accordions
A vehicle may be immobilized if:
- A check is returned for a traffic-related payment
- It displays a lost, stolen, or revoked permit
- It has three or more unpaid citations
- A permit payment is deemed unsatisfactory
The boot may only be removed by the NCCU Police Department after:
- Payment of a $25 boot removal fee
- Payment of all outstanding fines and late fees
Vehicles immobilized for over 72 hours will be towed or relocated to a storage facility.
Yes, you may petition the immobilization; however, you must still pay the boot removal fee.
