Biological and Biomedical Sciences Stories

Annika Webb is an anesthesiologist at UNC Chapel Hill. She graduated with her B.S. in biology with a pre-med concentration from NCCU in 2009. While at NCCU, she worked in the labs of Dr. Ricardo Richardson and Dr. Antonio Baines. She then matriculated to Harvard Medical School. After graduating with her M.D. in 2013, Dr. Webb completed her residency in pediatrics and anesthesiology at Johns Hopkins University before completing her fellowship in pediatric anesthesiology at Duke University.

Erika (EJ) Baker  is a rising D4 in the Doctor of Dental Surgery Program at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is a proud native of Fayetteville, NC, and a Jack Britt High School graduate. She received her bachelor’s degree from UNC-Chapel Hill as a biology and education double major.  She went on to complete her master’s degree in biological and biomedical sciences at North Carolina Central University, graduating magna cum laude. As a current dental student, Erika has been involved in multiple organizations that have allowed her to build genuine relationships and uplift communities all while being a lover of music and sports, anatomy and fitness. She plans to complete a periodontic residency in Dallas, TX, upon completion of dental school.
