Join the North Carolina Central University (NCCU) Division of Student Affairs (DSA) in welcoming Linell J. Jefferson III as the new Residential Life area coordinator for programming and leadership.
Jefferson is a higher education professional and creative strategist with experience in residence life leadership, staff supervision and student development. He brings a strong background in building comprehensive residential communities, mentoring student leaders, and supporting holistic student success. In his role, Jefferson will be responsible for overseeing residential operations, supervising and developing student staff, coordinating community programming and supporting crisis response and student engagement initiatives within his assigned residential area.
Jefferson most recently served as an area coordinator at the University of North Alabama, where he supervised resident and graduate assistants, led residential operations, and directed departmental branding and digital engagement strategies. He also brings experience in multimedia storytelling, social media strategy and athletics communications, skills that uniquely enhance community engagement and student connection.
He earned his bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Winston-Salem State University and has held progressive leadership roles, including graduate hall director, resident advisor, and multimedia intern. Jefferson is deeply committed to leadership development, service, and creating environments where students feel supported, challenged, and empowered to succeed.
