Originally from Philadelphia, Jameerah Ali has acquired a great amount of knowledge during her time at NCCU, taking on corporate internships, studying abroad and engaging in many  outside-the-classroom experiences.

Ali served as NCCU’s 2018 HBCU Competitiveness Scholar, part of the White House Initiative on Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), and she devoted the 2018 fall semester to learning marketing, banking, finance and strategic management at Mahidol University in Salaya, Thailand, 30 miles from Bangkok.

Most recently, Ali served as an audit intern at PriceWaterhouseCoopers and worked at Wells Fargo Home Mortgage as a sales and service systems intern.

NCCU has given me the opportunity to travel outside of my state, country and, most importantly, my comfort zone. I am proud to be an alumna and show off my Eagle pride anywhere I go.

Ali has also contributed greatly to the NCCU community as an intern for the campus Internal Audit Office and as an assistant for the Department of Residential Life.

She has been involved with several student organizations, including the Financial Management Society, Alpha Chi Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. and NCCU’s student chapter of the National Association of Black Accountants Inc., where she served as president.

Ali, who is a member of the University Honors Program, also devotes her time to the community. She volunteers for Durham Public Schools and the Durham Rescue mission, a non-profit organization that assists families who are homeless.

In June, Ali will join The Wendy's Company in Dublin, Ohio, as an entry-level accountant.
