First-Year Law Students

The North Carolina Central University School of Law officially welcomed its newest Legal Eagles as Flight School launched.

Through interactive sessions led by faculty, administrators, alumni and members of the legal community, students gain practical knowledge, hear firsthand from alumni about their experiences, build professional relationships and become familiar with the resources available to support their success.

Throughout the two-week program, students develop foundational law school skills, including legal analysis, case briefing, statutory interpretation, legal writing and exam preparation. Sessions also focus on time management, study strategies and habits that promote academic success during the first year of law school.

Flight School also marks the first year for Joseph K. Grant as dean of the NCCU School of Law. Grant welcomed students during the opening session, encouraging them to embrace the opportunities ahead while building relationships, skills and habits that will support them throughout law school and their legal careers.
