Michael Newby Named Director of Development for NCCU School of Business

Michael Newby has been appointed director of development for North Carolina Central University’s (NCCU) School of Business. He assumed the position on Feb. 6, 2023.  

In his new role, Newby manages a portfolio to identify, qualify, cultivate and steward potential major gift donors with a focus on increasing the pipeline of significant gift prospects for the philanthropic support of the NCCU School of Business. The School of Business leadership is confident in his abilities and believes that Newby’s contributions will have a significant impact on the institution’s future success. 

With over 17 years of experience in pharmaceutical and bio-pharmaceutical services, Newby has a proven track record of success in business development, sales and sales analytics. His expertise in various verticals paired with his years of experience in business-to-business sales at brands like Xerox Corporation, AstraZeneca and Quintiles, make him a valuable addition to the team. 

Newby holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from NCCU and an MBA degree from American Intercontinental University.
