The Institute for Artificial Intelligence and Emerging Research (IAIER) celebrated the inaugural cohort of its AI Emerging Scholars and AI Emerging Leaders programs during an April showcase highlighting student, faculty and staff achievement.
The event recognized 10 AI Emerging Scholars and 10 AI Emerging Leaders at North Carolina Central University (NCCU) for their yearlong commitment to artificial intelligence research, mentorship and leadership development. The initiatives are designed to strengthen AI readiness, research capacity and applied learning across the NCCU community.
Throughout the year, participants explored how artificial intelligence can be applied across disciplines and used to address real-world challenges. The showcase featured projects that used AI in areas such as music, app development and health outcomes.
Together, the projects demonstrated the broad possibilities of AI when students, faculty and staff are given the tools, mentorship and support to explore emerging technologies in meaningful ways.
