Grammy Artists Headlining 2023 NCCU Ultimate Homecoming Experience

The North Carolina Central University (NCCU) Ultimate Homecoming Experience returns to the Bull City beginning Saturday, Oct. 28, through Saturday, Nov. 4, 2023, with a star-studded line-up for its gospel and hip-hop and R&B concerts:

  • *Grammy-winning artists Hezekiah Walker and Jekalyn Carr will perform at the Ultimate Gospel Show at 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 29, in the McDougald-McLendon Arena on campus.
  • *Atlantic Records artist NoCap will headline the Ultimate Hip-Hop and R&B Show. He will be joined by Grammy songstress Muni Long and New Orleans rapper Rob49, beginning at 7 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 2, also in McDougald-McLendon Arena. Powered by Truist Bank.
  • *‘The Prince of Sophisticated Soul,’ Will Downing, will perform at the alumni concert on Friday, Nov. 3. Jazz pianist and Soul Train Award artist Alex Bugnon will provide additional entertainment. The show begins at 8 p.m., at the Sheraton Imperial Hotel, 4700 Emperor Blvd., in Durham. Event is powered by Fidelity InvestmentsNCCU Foundation, and RTI International.   

The Ultimate Homecoming Experience, which is title sponsored by Fidelity Investments, and supported by Nike Yardrunners, will also include several signature events during the action-packed week on campus:

  • 2023-2024 Miss and Mister NCCU Royal Coronation, 6 – 8 p.m., NCCU Student Center Event Hall.

Tuesday, Oct. 31

  • The Ultimate 10:40 Break, 10:30 a.m. – 2 p.m., James E. Shepard Library Bowl.
  • The Ultimate Talent Show, 6 – 8 p.m., McDougald-McLendon Arena.

Wednesday, Nov. 1

  • The Ultimate Drag Show, 6 – 8 p.m., NCCU Student Center Event Hall. Powered by Cisco Systems Inc.

Thursday, Nov. 2

Friday, Nov. 3

  • 76th Founder's Day and Class of 1973 Induction into the Society of Golden Eagles, 9 – 11 a.m., McDougald-McLendon Arena.
  • Wreath-Laying Ceremony, 11 a.m., James E. Shepard Administration Circle.
  • *Ultimate Face-Off Step Show, 7 – 11 p.m., McDougald-McLendon Arena. Powered by Pepsi Bottling Ventures LLC.

Saturday, Nov. 4

  • Ultimate Homecoming Parade, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m., Fayetteville Street, beginning at Cornwallis Road. Powered by Be the Match and Truist Bank.
  • *NCCU Football vs. Norfolk State University, 3:30 p.m., O’Kelly-Riddick Stadium.
  • Post-Game Social, 5 p.m., James E. Shepard Library Bowl.

Event Ticket Information

*All Homecoming event tickets are available for sale, beginning on Monday, Oct. 9, at the NCCU Ticket Office or nccu.edu/homecoming.

NCCU’s clear bag policy will be enforced at events in the McDougald-McLendon Arena and O’Kelly-Riddick Stadium.
