This year’s performance will feature guest artist Joe Chambers, celebrated jazz drummer and composer, along with several North Carolina Central University (NCCU) jazz percussion alumni. The evening will celebrate the start of a new academic year and pay tribute to NCCU alumnus Grady Tate, legendary jazz drummer and vocalist.
In addition to the concert, a series of music and percussion-focused workshops will be held earlier in the day, beginning at 2 p.m. The workshop series includes four unique presentations led by accomplished artists and educators. Workshops are $20.
