NCCU Community:
A Winter Storm Advisory has been issued for Durham and surrounding areas, effective Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2026, at 6 p.m., through Thursday, Feb. 5, 2026, at 10 a.m. There is potential for freezing rain which may impact the Thursday morning commute.
The university will operate under Condition 2 (Suspended Operations) of the Adverse Weather and Emergency Event Policy effective on Thursday, Feb. 5. at 12 a.m., through 10 a.m.
This is a two-hour opening delay and normal operations will resume at 10 a.m.
Classes starting before 10 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 5, are cancelled, and all non-essential campus operations are suspended during this period.
EMPLOYEES
Faculty and staff should take reasonable precautions for personal safety. Mandatory employees, as determined by their supervisor, are required to report to work. Supervisors may allow non-mandatory employees to work virtually. If an employee is unable to report to work due to weather conditions or is unable to work virtually, that employee must take leave consistent with the Adverse Weather and Emergency Event Policy.

- Academic Affairs: Classes scheduled to start before 10 a.m. are cancelled.
- Campus Dining: Pearson Dining Hall will be open:
- Brunch 10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.
- Dinner 5:30-7:30 p.m.
- Transportation:
- NCCU Campus Shuttle: 12 -7 p.m.
- NCCU Student Center: Open at 10 a.m.
- RecWell: Open at 10 a.m.
