North Carolina Central University (NCCU) has appointed Angelique D. Stallings as deputy chief of staff, effective Mar. 2, 2026. She will report to Dr. Gary L. Brown, vice chancellor and chief of staff.
Stallings is an accomplished executive leader with more than two decades of experience advancing mission-driven organizations through strategic planning, executive operations, partnership development and high-level stakeholder engagement. A proud NCCU alumna, Stallings returns to her alma mater with a deep commitment to institutional excellence and community impact.
Stallings will support executive leadership in advancing institutional priorities, strengthening cross-campus coordination, managing strategic initiatives and enhancing external partnerships that elevate the university’s mission and impact.
Most recently, Stallings served as vice president of community investment for the Greater Durham Chamber of Commerce, where she functioned as a senior executive leader supporting the CEO and executive leadership team. In this role, she advanced organizational strategy through community investment initiatives, external relations and revenue-generating partnerships. She led membership growth and engagement strategies contributing to multimillion-dollar annual revenues and implemented a comprehensive sponsorship strategy that generated more than $1 million over a three-year period. She also oversaw the planning and execution of more than 25 annual executive meetings and large-scale convenings, managing complex logistics and coordinating diverse stakeholder groups.
As founder and principal consultant of the MochaMind Agency, a public relations and marketing firm, Stallings has provided executive-level consulting to nonprofit, corporate and mission-driven organizations since 2008. Her work has included strategic communications, operational planning, partnership cultivation, executive convenings and innovative engagement strategies.
A respected civic and governance leader, Stallings currently serves as board chair of the Durham Sports Commission and holds leadership roles with the United Minority Contractors of North Carolina, the Durham Committee on the Affairs of Black People, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. (Durham Alumnae Chapter), Duke Housing Council and Durham Public Schools’ CTE Advisory Council, among others. She is the proud mother of Dajah, a Durham native, who is now a Super Bowl champion with the Seattle Seahawks.
Stallings graduated with a Bachelor of Science in criminal justice from NCCU.
