Angela A. Coleman, Ed.D., vice chancellor for the division of student affairs, has been selected as a member of the sixth cohort of the UNC System Executive Leadership Institute (ELI).  The sixth cohort comprises 36 transformative leaders from 13 UNC institutions.

“I am deeply honored to have been selected as a 2025 participant in the University of North Carolina System’s Executive Leadership Institute. This opportunity to grow alongside talented colleagues from across the UNC System is truly humbling and energizing, said Coleman.” “Thank you to the UNC System and Chancellor Karrie G. Dixon for investing in leaders who are committed to excellence in higher education.”

The UNC System Office launched ELI in 2019. It is a highly competitive 10-month program aimed at developing the next generation of senior leaders within the UNC System.

This learning experience will occur virtually and at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, North Carolina A&T State University and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

Throughout Coleman’s higher education career, she has led student affairs initiatives that support holistic growth, created welcoming campus communities and strengthened university partnerships. During her time at North Carolina Central University, Coleman has improved the student experience while ensuring enhanced recruitment, retention and student well-being.

As Coleman embarks on this next chapter of leadership development, she will have the opportunity to further refine her strategic acumen, professional network and develop new insights that she can bring back to North Carolina Central University that will further develop our campus community.
