You'll also explore the exciting opportunities and challenges that lie ahead in your first year, from academic expectations to the lively student experience. Student Orientation, Advising and Registration (SOAR)

SOAR Registration Information
To register for SOAR, you must access and complete the "Before You SOAR Checklist." This will be visible to you after you have paid the enrollment fee and completed the housing application/exemption process.
Registration Fee:
- Cost: $250.00 – Applicable for all first-year, transfer and second-degree seeking students (if the first-degree was not received at NCCU): Please note: The registration fee is non-refundable fee and will be added to your e-bill; therefore, no upfront cost is due at the time of registration.
SOAR attendance is mandatory for all incoming first-students! This experience is designed to provide valuable information and introduce resources to assist you with a smooth transition into university life.

As you begin preparations for your upcoming Student Orientation, Advising and Registration (SOAR) session, please note the following:
This SOAR session is a one-day experience. No on-campus accommodations will be provided for students that do not have a confirmed housing assignment for the Spring 2026 academic semester.
Note: If you have a confirmed housing assignment for the Spring 2026 academic term, you will be permitted to report to campus on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, to retrieve your room key and begin your move-in into your assigned residential hall. You will report to the A.E. Student Union Upper Level – located at 511 Nelson Street from 12 to 4 p.m.
