Come swing with North Carolina Central University!
This event will feature NCCU alumni drummers, “jazz drumming legend” Joe Chambers and Professor Thomas Taylor as they start jazz in the Fall at NCCU with a bang.
Jazz drummer Thomas Taylor, guest artist drummer Joe Chambers and some of the jazz percussion alumni will present the 13th annual jazz concert and fundraiser at the Sharp Nine Gallery on Sunday, Aug. 24, at 6 p.m. This concert will celebrate the new year at NCCU and honor NCCU alumnus, Grady Tate. Earlier in the afternoon, there will be music and percussion-centered workshops starting at 2 p.m .
All proceeds will go to the Jazz Studies scholarship fund. The concert is $40.00, and the entire series of workshops (four different presentations) is $20.00.
