The campus and surrounding community are cordially invited to participate in MGT-406: Community Threat Group Identification, Assessment, and Information Reporting for Rural Law Enforcement Officers — a valuable 8-hour, Department of Homeland Security/Federal Emergency Management Agency (DHS/FEMA)-certified, tuition-free management-level training course designed to enhance threat awareness and reporting capabilities in rural communities.
This course provides a comprehensive approach to identifying and assessing community threat groups (CTGs) in rural communities, with a specific focus on the evolving nexus of gangs, hate groups, and domestic/international terrorist organizations as they converge for criminal enterprise.
Participants will learn how to:
- Identify criminal activities of CTGs and networks impacting rural communities
- Classify domestic and international CTGs based on institutionalization, sophistication, and likelihood of convergence
- Utilize a suspicious activity report (SAR) to properly document and report suspicious activity related to CTGs
