NCCU's Founder's Day is celebrated annually to commemorate the university's founding by Dr. James E. Shepard.
In addition to honoring and recognizing Dr. Shepard's contributions, a key part of the Founder's Day Convocation includes the induction of the class of 1976 into the Society of Golden Eagles.
