Roshanna Parker
Roshanna Humphrey is the director of the Durham County Justice Services Department. Justice Services is a department of Durham County Government dedicated to providing services and support to justice-involved citizens. Roshanna oversees and manages departmental operations, including budget, staffing, specialty courts, inpatient and outpatient substance use disorder and mental health services for justice-involved individuals.
Roshanna’s background includes extensive work at the state level with reentry and transition for offenders in North Carolina. She has worked with the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction, the North Carolina Department of Public Safety and the Governor’s Crime Commission. Her work experience includes positions as a correctional Officer, a probation officer, a correctional case analyst, a juvenile justice planner and a research and evaluation analyst.
In 2012, she transitioned her work to Durham County, where she has served as assistant director, interim director and now director. She has a wealth of experience with policy analysis and program development for juvenile and adult offenders. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from the University of South Carolina and her master’s degree in Criminal Justice from North Carolina Central University.
Roshanna has over 20 years of teaching experience, having served as an adjunct professor at Alamance Community College, Strayer University and North Carolina Central University.
