Born in Philadelphia, raised throughout NC, Kyrie Mason went to North Carolina Central University for both his B.A. (Interdisciplinary Studies) and M.A. (History), the latter of which he specialized in East African history and public history.
Currently a Ph.D. student in Africana Studies at Brown University, Kyrie's work is embedded in the history and politics of Africa and the African diaspora and is deeply engaged by inquiries into historical method and historiography, media theory and political economy. In his free time, he likes to read manga and comics, cook and hang out with his son.
