Katherine "Katie" Foley serves as the office coordinator and access coach for the Office of Student Accessibility Services at North Carolina Central University. In this role, she brings a deep passion for advocacy that has been a consistent thread throughout her academic and professional journey.
Katie earned her bachelor’s degree in Special Education from East Carolina University in 2017 and went on to teach in Eastern North Carolina for six years. During her fifth year of teaching, she was honored as Teacher of the Year at her school and recognized among the Top Ten educators in the county. In December 2024, she completed her master’s degree in Disability Services in Higher Education and transitioned into a role in higher education at NCCU in September 2024.
Her accomplishments include being named Best Support Staff and presenting at professional conferences on topics such as program access coaching and self-advocacy for success in college and beyond. Katie is also proud to serve as an alumni representative on the Executive Board Committee for the Hill Learning Center during the 2025–2026 school year.
Outside of work, she enjoys going to the gym, bike riding, attending concerts, spending time with family and friends, and dancing — hip-hop being her favorite style.
