Grace Hao
Dr. Grace Hao, Ph.D., CCC-SLP, ASHA Fellow, is a tenured professor in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at North Carolina Central University. She has served in multiple key administrative roles, including program coordinator (2014–2016), chair of the Department of Allied Professions (2016–2020), and chair of Communication Sciences and Disorders (2020–2025), where she has led with vision, collaboration, and integrity.
Dr. Hao is deeply passionate about advancing clinical education and interprofessional practice. She has developed and taught a wide range of core and specialized courses that prepare students for careers in medical speech-language pathology, including topics such as pediatric feeding disorders, autism spectrum disorders, and craniofacial anomalies. Known for her collegial approach and commitment to building inclusive academic communities, Dr. Hao has fostered faculty development, student success, and interdisciplinary partnerships throughout her leadership tenure. In recognition of her exceptional service and leadership contributions, she was named a Fellow of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) in 2024 — an honor awarded for distinguished achievement in administrative services and professional leadership.
