Elizabeth Williams
Dr. Elizabeth Williams is an assistant professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at North Carolina Central University. She earned her B.S. in Nursing from Florida A&M University and her Ph.D. from Case Western Reserve University.
Before joining North Carolina Central University, Dr. Williams gained extensive experience in clinical nursing and clinical research, working across hospital, community, and academic settings. Her professional roles have included direct patient care, coordination of clinical trials, and collaboration on multidisciplinary research projects aimed at improving health outcomes and advancing equitable care. At North Carolina Central University, Dr. Williams teaches in the Clinical Research Sciences Program, where she integrates her clinical and research expertise into student learning.
Her research interests include the following:
- Stress physiology and heart rate variability (HRV)
- Caregiving and mental health
- Health equity and minority health
- Women’s health
