Beverly Mahone-Gibbs is a retired journalist who spent more than 30 years in radio and television news. She has worked as a radio news anchor, talk show host, television reporter, videographer, and as an assignment editor.
Ms. Mahone-Gibbs is a published author of several books, including the creation of two vocabulary dictionaries (WordUp!) based on the vocabulary videos she introduces online. She calls it “a new way of learning for a new generation.” She also established the Auntie Bev. Scholarship Fund and presents annual scholarships to college students around the country.
In addition to spending the last 8 years as a part-time writing consultant at NCCU, she is also known as "Auntie Bev the Vocabulary Builder" on social media.
