Anthony Trotta
Dr. Anthony Trotta has been an adjunct instructor at NCCU since 2023 and has taught a wide range of online asynchronous courses in the Executive Master of Public Administration program. Dr. Trotta has studied public administration, public policy, and political science for over 30 years in pursuit of knowledge that would allow him to better comprehend and appreciate the workings of governance.
During that time, he earned a B.A. in political science from Rutgers University-Camden in 1996, an M.P.A. from Rutgers University-Camden in 2000 and a Ph.D. in Public Administration from the School of Public Affairs and Administration at Rutgers University-Newark in 2006. Dr. Trotta has extensive university-level teaching, course development, and program development experience in public administration, public policy, and political science (both in the traditional and virtual classroom) at the undergraduate and graduate levels since he began his teaching career in 2002.
His teaching and research interests include topics associated with e-governance, public budgeting, public policy, and public service. In relation, Dr. Trotta has published two books with the Routledge/Taylor & Francis Group that are focused on understanding the dynamically evolutionary roles that technology plays in facilitating a wide range of endeavors associated with digital democracy during the e-governance era.
Although primarily serving in a teaching capacity at the university level, Dr. Trotta also has experience contributing to academic works, including (but not limited to) serving as a manuscript reviewer for Public Performance Management Review (PPMR) - Special Issue on Public-Private Partnerships (2011) and contributing editor for the Encyclopedia of Public Administration and Public Policy (2006–2007). Lastly, Dr. Trotta’s academic background is supplemented with real-world management experience in the public sector and the private sector.
