Alexis Redford
Alexis Redford is an assistant professor and licensed special educator in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction and teaches courses in the Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments (TSVI) program. She has expertise in visual impairments, data-informed decision-making, program improvement, and systems-level implementation. Her professional experience includes applying evidence-based practices and collaborating with educators, administrators, and other stakeholders to strengthen instructional systems, evaluate programs, and improve outcomes for students. Her research and professional work are grounded in implementation science (the study of how effective practices are adopted, implemented, and sustained in real-world settings).
Alexis specializes in translating data, research, and evaluation findings into actionable strategies that support educators, inform decision-making, and improve program and organizational effectiveness. She believes that meaningful and sustainable educational improvement requires more than identifying effective practices; it requires strong data, meaningful collaboration, and intentional frameworks for implementation and sustainability. Her goal is to help educational systems align resources, practices, and supports in ways that strengthen outcomes for both students and educators.
