The NCCU TRIO Teacher Preparation Program (SSS-TEACH) assists undergraduate first-generation, low-income, and/or students with disabilities who pursuing degrees in education-related majors. Apply now.

Funds Awarded
SSS-TEACH scholars can apply for scholarship funding through the program to provide debt relief and assistance with accomplishing financial goals.
SSS-TEACH staff members, tutors, and peer academic leaders (PALs) provide 1:1 coaching, small-group support and general guidance to aid students academically, personally and professionally.
SSS-TEACH scholars receive assistance completing graduate school applications, developing personal statements, completing the FAFSA and developing skills that will make them competitive applicants.
SSS-TEACH offers program participants the opportunity to learn about budgeting and saving, investing, credit, loans and strategies to help promote effective financial stewardship.
SSS-TEACH scholars can receive both financial assistance and academic skill-building assistance to prepare for the Graduate Record Examinations (GRE), the Pharmacy College Admission Test (PCAT), the Dental Admission Test (DAT), the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) and other entrance exams.
SSS-TEACH scholars have the opportunity to visit various local, regional and national colleges to find the perfect graduate school for them.
SSS-TEACH students can participate in workshops, summits and information sessions about various education careers and skill development.
SSS-TEACH scholars participate in local, state and regional conferences to promote student development and peer networking.
SSS-TEACH provides mentors to students to help them transition into high school and into college.
SSS-TEACH offers programs and activities to help students develop leadership skills.
Students can gain community service hours for graduation, scholarships and college applications by volunteering with SSS-TEACH.
SSS-TEACH scholars have the opportunity to receive academic, housing, transportation and other accommodations as a component of LCI Student Accessibility Center.
The Summer Access and Success Program is a four-week summer enrichment program to aid newly admitted freshmen and transfer students in their transition to North Carolina Central University.
