Welcome to CODE
CODE focuses on data science, data analytics, machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) in health disparities and health equity research education and outreach.
Addressing health disparities and achieving health equity using artificial intelligence and machine learning.
CODE focuses on data science, data analytics, machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) in health disparities and health equity research education and outreach.
The Center is part of an effort to build research infrastructure at NCCU through the NCCU Research Centers at Minority Institutions (RCMI) grant, which is funded by the National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities (NIMHD), and the Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Consortium to Advance Health Equity and Researcher Diversity (AIM AHEAD), which is funded through the National Health Institute (NIH). We have a focus on health disparities and health equity research education and outreach through:
Established in 2022, CODE is developing a community of artificial intelligence and equity researchers. Our team is composed of enthusiastic contributors who are highly motivated to work with new ideas.
One of our core purposes is to find ways in which technology can be available to people from all walks of life. To do this, we support and engage in collaborative research, journal publications, symposiums and workshops.
The National Institutes of Health’s Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Consortium to Advance Health Equity and Researcher Diversity (AIM-AHEAD) program has established mutually beneficial, coordinated and trusted partnerships to enhance the participation and representation of researchers and communities currently underrepresented in the development of AI and ML models and to improve the capabilities of this emerging technology—beginning with electronic health records (EHR) and extending to other diverse data—in order to address health disparities and inequities.
