Please be advised that NCCU will experience increased traffic on campus from Monday, June 22, through Wednesday, June 24, due to the upcoming Student Orientation, Advising, and Registration session, also known as SOAR. This upcoming week’s SOAR session will take… (Show full alert) place Monday through Wednesday due to the Father’s Day holiday. During these dates, we anticipate a larger volume of traffic on campus, especially near the Latham Parking Deck and Lawson Street Residential Complex, as approximately 375 New Eagles are expected to arrive on campus. New Eagles attending SOAR will park in the Latham Parking Deck, and families and guests attending SOAR may primarily use the deck as well. The Latham Parking Deck will remain open to permit holders; however, we encourage permit holders to use the upper floors when possible and to exercise patience in the event of traffic delays. Because of the expected increase in vehicles, we also encourage the NCCU community to use surface lots where available and accessible, provided the lot aligns with your parking permit type. If parking in a surface lot, please ensure that your parking permit is eligible for that area by comparing the color of your permit with the signage posted at the entrance of the lot. As a reminder, student permits are valid in both residential and commuter parking lots. For individuals needing metered parking services during this time, the Latham Parking Deck remains available and will provide the greatest amount of parking capacity. Parking may resume in the Latham Surface Lot after 5:00 pm on Tuesday, June 16th. Individuals who normally park in the Latham Surface Lot should be prepared to utilize the Latham Parking Deck or other available surface lots across campus. If parking in another surface lot, please ensure that your permit is eligible by comparing the color of your permit with the signage posted at the entrance of the lot. Vehicles parked in the Latham Surface Lot without authorization during this closure may be subject to citation at the owner’s expense. Greetings NCCU Community, Please be advised that a vendor will be on site during the day on Friday, June 12, 2026, to complete parking space line repairs adjacent to the crosswalks on Eagle Campus Drive. As part of the recent crosswalk addition… (Show full alert) project along Eagle Campus Drive, it was determined that two parking spaces in this area are too small for vehicle parking. Vehicles parked in these spaces may obstruct the crosswalk and create a safety concern for pedestrians. Once the work is completed, these two vehicle parking spaces will be eliminated and converted into two motorcycle parking spaces. As you arrive to campus on June 12, please avoid parking in any coned-off parking spaces. The affected spaces will reopen once the work has been completed and all paint has dried. It is imperative that, once the work is completed, all vehicles parked along Eagle Campus Drive fit fully within the marked parking lines. This expectation applies to all parking spaces across campus. Vehicles that do not fit within the designated lines may be subject to enforcement action. Parking Services is also excited to share that Parking Notices, such as this one, will now be published to our website in addition to being sent by email. Greetings NCCU Community, As we continue parking enforcement during the summer months, NCCU Police - Parking Services has observed several common parking violations across campus. In the spirit of collaboration, we are asking for the entire NCCU community’s partnership in addressing… (Show full alert) these concerns and helping us maintain safe, accessible, and orderly parking areas. Parking Permits Required As a reminder, parking on campus is by permit only, and the permit must be displayed at all times while parked on campus. ADA spaces require both a valid NCCU parking permit and a valid ADA placard, though NCCU permits are not zone specific when parking in ADA spaces. Failure to display a parking permit, even if the vehicle is listed in the parking portal, will result in ticketing and/or towing at the owner’s expense. Parking permits are issued by NCCU Police - Parking Services. Departments are not authorized to print or issue paper signage indicating permission or a need to park in a specific area. Only official Parking Services permits will be honored, both during the summer and during the academic year. Crosswalks Must Remain Clear Several vehicles, particularly along Eagle Campus Drive, have been observed blocking newly painted crosswalks. We recognize that additional work may be needed to address certain parking spaces where crosswalks have been added to eliminate old spaces. However, no portion of a vehicle may block painted crosswalks. Blocking a crosswalk may result in a parking citation and potential towing. Please ensure that no portion of your vehicle is blocking a crosswalk when parked. This is especially important because crosswalk areas may include flattened curbs that are necessary for accessibility. ParkMobile Zone on Nelson Street The ParkMobile zone along Nelson Street requires an active ParkMobile session at all times, even if the vehicle has an NCCU parking decal. Failure to start an active ParkMobile session may result in a citation. Sidewalks and Loading Zones We are also noticing issues with vehicles parking on sidewalks and in loading zones. Under no circumstances may sidewalks be used for parking without prior approval from NCCU Police - Parking Services. Loading zones are intended for quick loading and unloading only and should not be used as parking spaces. Vendor Parking Vendors visiting campus should park in non-reserved parking spaces and must be issued a valid parking permit by Parking Services. If your department has a vendor coming to campus, please coordinate with Parking Services in advance to ensure the appropriate parking permit is issued. Additionally, we are encountering issues where vendors are being advised to park in areas that have not been approved by Parking Services. Any violation of the parking policy will be the responsibility of the vehicle owner, even if a department has communicated incorrect parking information. If there are questions regarding where a vendor should park, please contact NCCU Police - Parking Services so that we may provide the most accurate guidance. Reserved Parking Spaces Reserved parking spaces are assigned to specific permit holders and are not transferable. If you are out of the office for any period of time, it is not permissible to allow another individual to park in your reserved space. Reserved spaces may only be occupied by the assigned permit holder. Immediate Towing Reminders As a reminder, NCCU Police - Parking Services will continue to implement immediate towing for reserved parking spaces, fire zones, and ADA violations without additional notice. Please ensure that you remain in compliance with all parking policies throughout the summer months.
