Program Overview
The Kinesiology and Recreation Administration M.S. program is designed to stimulate professional competence, scholarship and independent research. A student admitted to this program can choose one of the following as a concentration:
- Athletic Administration prepares aspiring students and practicing athletic administrators for key roles in management and leadership within the sports industry.
- Recreation Management includes study in administration and management, preparing students for leadership roles in recreation and leisure service organizations.
- For Physical Education Teacher Education, the applicant must have earned an undergraduate degree in physical education from an institution of higher education accredited by a regional association and must also have the North Carolina “A” license or the equivalent from another state.
These concentrations provide comprehensive graduate education in kinesiology and recreation administration and are designed to provide advanced study in teaching, learning, curriculum development and leadership.
