Current Career Title: Assistant athletic director for sports medicine/head athletic trainer, NCCU
Sierra Hobbs is a leader in sports medicine, currently serving as the assistant athletics director for sports medicine at North Carolina Central University (NCCU), where she oversees comprehensive healthcare services for more than 300 student-athletes.
Hobbs brings more than a decade of experience from institutions including Morgan State University, Clark Atlanta University, Alabama State University and VCU Health. She has served on the medical staff for the East-West Shrine Bowl and is the co-chair of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Health and Medical Advisory Group, where she helps shape conference-wide health and safety policies.
Hobbs actively gives back through community involvement. She volunteers with youth sports organizations, mentors aspiring athletic trainers and supports efforts to increase diversity and inclusion in sports medicine.
Hobbs earned her Doctor of Athletic Training from A.T. Still University, a Master’s in Kinesiology from California State University at Long Beach, and a bachelor's in athletic training from NCCU — all with honors.
In her free time, she enjoys dancing, roller skating, traveling, shopping and spending time with loved ones.
