Current Career Title: Director of quality assurance implementation solutions, Quality Matters
Racheal Brooks, Ph.D., is a 16-year higher education administrator, educator and consultant dedicated to expanding the possibilities of teaching and learning. As director of quality assurance implementation solutions for Quality Matters, she leads consulting initiatives, supporting institutions in enhancing online quality.
As a faculty member, Brooks facilitates online Spanish and graduate research methods courses. Serving as NCCU’s founding director of e-learning from 2015–2023, Brooks spearheaded NCCU’s successful emergency transition to remote learning during the COVID-19 pandemic and co-led the University of North Carolina System’s Quality Matters Council.
Brooks's research centers on online instruction, learner success, curriculum development, culturally affirming and inclusive design, accessibility, program assessment and language instruction. Brooks holds a B.A. in Spanish from North Carolina Central University, an M.A. in Spanish Literature from Georgia State University, and a Ph.D. in Educational Research and Policy Analysis with a specialization in Higher Education Administration from North Carolina State University.
She is a NCCU Alumni Association life member and active member of Sigma Tau Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.
Above all, Brooks enjoys traveling, eating and spending time with her high school sweetheart, Tenahr, and their two amazing children, Amihr and Imani.
