Dr. Stennett is a former volleyball player for the Jamaica National Volleyball Team and the volleyball team at North Carolina Central University. She is a board-certified family medicine physician and is currently completing her fellowship training in sports medicine at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
After graduating from NCCU with honors with a Bachelor of Science in biology, a minor in chemistry and a Master’s in biology, Dr. Stennett completed her medical degree at Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. She went on to complete her family medicine residency at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, FL.
She engages in community service activities, participating in various health fairs and outreach programs, including teaching minority students in topics in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). She founded an SAT scholarship fund in 2015 that pays SAT fees for international students. She is also a mentor to medical students, as she truly believes that her most lasting and fulfilling achievements are earned by helping others fulfill their dreams.
Dr. Stennett is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Medical Society of Sports Medicine, the American College of Sports Medicine, the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) and the American Board of Family Medicine.
