Healthy Opportunities Program Manager, North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services – Office of the Secretary, Healthy Opportunities
LaQuana Palmer currently serves as a program manager at the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, where she supports the Department’s executive leadership and partners in planning, implementation, and oversight of Healthy Opportunities in the Office of the Secretary. Prior to serving in her current role, Palmer served as the communications manager, public information officer, and health educator for the Division of Public Health at the state and local levels.
She received her Master of Public Administration degree from North Carolina Central University (NCCU) and a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Health Education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG). While attending NCCU, Palmer was inducted into the Pi Alpha Alpha National Honor Society of Public Administrators and received the Gordon Whitaker Fellowship Award.
As Palmer soars in health and human services administration, she continues to advocate for historically marginalized communities and is highly involved in community service activities that promote wellness and community development. In addition to her commitment to health and human services, Palmer is a proud active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and volunteers as a youth volleyball coach for girls ages 8–11.
