Kent Williams, Jr has over 15 years of experience in higher education and leadership development, with a focus on student success, social consciousness, and career readiness. Currently assistant director for student leadership at North Carolina Central University, he oversees leadership programs, campus events, and student governance while managing staff and student workers. In 2009, CNN’s John King recognized Kent as “a true leader for today’s youth.”
A proud NCCU alumnus, Kent holds a B.A. in Political Science and an M.A. in Career Counseling and Placement. His leadership has earned numerous honors, including Honorary Membership in Omicron Delta Kappa National Leadership Honor Society, the National Society of Leadership and Success, and the Order of Omega. He was voted Advisor of the Year (2020–2021) and Staff of the Year (2018–2019) by NCCU students, and recognized with the Community Contributor Award and Maroon and Gray Spirit Award by the Division of Student Affairs (2019–2020).
Kent has successfully managed budgets exceeding $300,000, built cross-campus partnerships, and championed inclusive, student-centered programming. A life member of the NCCU Alumni Association, he remains committed to empowering students and creating transformative, high-impact experiences that prepare tomorrow’s leaders.
