SDS Ambassadors are student leaders who assist in wellness outreach, peer mentorship, social media engagement, and event planning. This role offers a valuable opportunity to develop leadership skills while earning meaningful community service opportunities!
CREAR Futuros (College Readiness, Achievement, and Retention) is a peer mentoring program that provides mentors to incoming first-year students. The mentors support the students in their social and academic lives. The goal of the program is student retention and graduation. The student organization Crear Ambassadors. NCCU is the only HBCU that has the program!
Your mind and body are essential to your success and happiness. Yoga is for every body, and in these workshops, you are encouraged to only do poses that are right for your body. Beginning Spring 2026, Student Development and Support will offer twice‑monthly yoga sessions, led by a certified yoga instructor, to support your holistic wellness. In addition, you may request the instructor to attend your events to provide breath exercises, yoga or meditation — ideal for wellness fairs, mindfulness breaks, orientation programs, and student-led gatherings.
Student Development and Support hosts two thoughtfully designed lounge areas tailored to support small-scale engagements and individual well-being. Whether for casual conversation, focused study, peer meetings, or campus events, these spaces offer a cozy and flexible setting that encourages community connection and personal rejuvenation. Visit them at NCCU Student Center Suite 2121 and 2124.
Our chaplains offer comprehensive spiritual wellness support through group sessions, individual counseling, education trips, and campus events. They are trained spiritual care professionals who provide empathetic listening, existential reflection, and spiritual support across all faiths and belief systems.
Our department has workshops that can deepen your understanding of wellness. College can be stressful. We will empower you to learn more about yourself and gain skills to bring more balance into your life.
