ROLL OUT EVENT FOR NEW NCCU MASCOT DESIGN

ROLL OUT EVENT FOR
NEW NCCU MASCOT DESIGN

JULY 18, 2005

DURHAM, N.C. — North Carolina Central University’s (NCCU) will host a roll event for its new mascot design Friday, August 19, from 12 noon to 2 p.m. on the campus of NCCU. The scheduled events include food, prizes, vendors and entertainment.

In 2004, Chancellor James H. Ammons appointed a committee to develop a new eagle mascot design. The charge of the committee was to develop a design that the university’s constituents would like and identify with as being a symbol or trademark of NCCU.

The designs do not replace the official seal of the University; but rather provide a uniform depiction of the University’s mascot. The marks include a primary mark, secondary mark, eagle, word mark, and eagle head.

For more information and register as a vendor at the roll out celebration, contact the Office of Public Relations at (919) 530-6295.
