North Carolina Central University's Office of International Affairs, Criminal Justice Department, and Institute for Homeland Security and Workforce Development will host a presentation by visiting Fulbright lecturer, Dr. Iryna Serabrakova, assistant professor in the Academy of the Ministry of Interior, Republic of Belarus. The presentation, titled “Global Challenges and Law Enforcement Activity in Eastern Europe”, will take place on June 2 at 10 a.m. in the Moot Court Room of the NCCU Law School. It is free and open to the public.
Serabrakova is currently in the United States on a Fulbright scholarship at Rutgers University, focusing research on democratization of law-enforcement activity and the applicability of American experience in post-Communist countries.
She is a professor of law, serves as a member of the Human Rights Center in Belarus, and has also served as regional expert of the European Institute of Crime Prevention and Control, an affiliate of the United Nations.
