Atty. Charles Baron has served for four years on the Board and now assumes the role of vice chair. Baron has served as dean of administration and chief legal officer at Medgar Evers College in N.Y. “As a second generation NCCU graduate, I am fully committed to my alma mater,” said Epps. He states that his primary concern is that NCCU’s “infrastructure keeps pace with the growth in enrollment.” According to Epps, “We’ve got to make sure we have the resources in place to provide the best service to our students.”

An alumnus with a Bachelor of Arts from NCCU, Pope recently retired as vice president of Capitol Broadcasting Company, Inc., and general manager of the American Tobacco Historic District. Dwayne Johnson is a history education major in his junior year. On his path to the presidency of the Student Government Association, Johnson served as freshman assistant to the president and sophomore class president.

Concerning his appointment to the Board of Trustees, he said, “I was a little nervous at first but the trustee members really made me feel comfortable. I feel like I have another family.”
